Meet the Artist

Hello! My name is Taphath Foose. I don’t ever remember not drawing. I pursued art through school and had grown as an artist but never pursued it as a career. I battled with unrealistic expectations and became so discouraged I gave up on art. I had no idea why God gave me a talent; in fact, I told Him I wished He wouldn’t have given it.

My father died in 2016, along with a difficult journey to an Autism diagnosis for my son the following year, I reluctantly picked up my pencil. God mercifully allowed art to become a path to healing in more than one way. I realized I viewed it as my identity and value all my life that having a “bad art day” derailed me. Not until recently have I learned to release some of the control and high expectations. God has been teaching me that art is not my identity but rather the instrument in which he uses me to showcase his glory.

I did mostly graphite and ink drawings until 2019 when I tried watercolors, and soon acrylic. In 2022, I began handpainting digitally and combining multiple traditional watercolors to create a new painting, but traditional watercolor and acrylic remain my primary. I have varying subjects and sometimes style, but I love painting birds.

Thank you for stopping by
and being part of my art journey!
